This book is a glimpse into the life of Father Abdel Messieh El Maqari (1892-1963), also known as Abdel Messieh El Manahri, a contemporary monk who, through ascetic spiritual strivings, was able to advance steadily towards virtue, unhampered by the earthly matters of this transient world.
Whilst dwelling on earth and amidst people, Father Abdel Messieh lived a saintly life as a true citizen of heaven, and became an icon of Christ. Rightly said Saint John the Hermit: “If you see pure and humble person, that is indeed a great vision. For what is greater than to behold the invisible God in a visible man?”
