| This is St Athanasius first Paschal letter. Paschal letters are the equivalent of Festal Letters and Resurrection Letters. The term Pascha means Passover. This letter was issued usually shortly after Epiphany, and read in the churches during Lent, especially on Palm Sunday. In this letter St. Athanasius exhorts his people to take off the old man and put on the new one (Eph 4:22).
