Awake, O Sleeper!

"Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give you light" (Ephesians 5:14)

In this book, Pope Shenouda III, 117th Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of Saint Mark (1923-2012), highlights causes that lead a person to fall into spiritual slumber. He also explains what are the triggers that lead a person to awaken spiritually are, and what accompanies a true spiritual awakening.

He gives examples of the spiritual awakening of many who were far from God but who went on to become renowned spiritual guides, saints, and martyrs.
