Biblical Meditations for Advent and the Christmas Season
The meditations in this book seek to preserve the winter-spring tension of Advent-Christmas, a spirit of returning to the sources of our life, a spirit awakening to new possibilities of 'kindness and love' (Christmas Mass at dawn). Our minds and hearts are nudged to be active and are quieted into contemplation. By means of such opposite pulls, Biblical meditation finds its best moments and brings an ever more intense awareness of God's immediate but mysterious presence ... These meditations do not seek conclusions from a Biblical passage. Rather they encourage us to wait for the voice of the Spirit in between the two or three Biblical passages of the Eucharistic liturgy, in fact in between Scriptural readings, the reality of our contemporary world and our own individual person.[/long]
