An Altar to the Lord

Gods Promises to His people are always fulfilled; He said there would be an altar to the Lord in the midst of the land of Egypt (Isaiah 19:19) This promise was fulfilled through the flight of the Holy Family to Egypt. Thus Jesus Christ Himself laid the foundation stone of His church in Egypt, which was confirmed by St. Mark the Evangelists arrival in Alexandria in 61 AD. The Coptic Orthodox Church is rich in her evangelistic and ascetic life, heavenly worship, spiritual ritual, living praise, beautiful art, language and music.
